The Wellington public transit system consists of a large fleet of buses and
electric trolleybuses. Visitors can purchase a single journey ticket, a
day pass (NZ$6) or a multi-day transit pass. Fares from downtown
Wellington into the suburbs are somewhat more expensive.
Wellington New Zealand is a pedestrian-friendly city. Consequently,
tourists can visit many of the city's tourist attractions on foot.
